Mary Lindley Guthrie Russell Ness

Peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on Thursday March 27, 2014 Loving wife of 53 years to the late William Ness. Dear Mother to Ian, Russell, and Brenda. Dear Sister to Annie Brown, Ella Robertson, Lena Simmons, David Russell, John Russell and Aunt to many nieces and nephews Beloved Gran of Nicholas, Catriona, Heather, Kate, Sarah, Kyle, and Rachel and cherished “GreatNess” of Isaiah, Landon, Trifonas, Ian, Hannah, and two new great grandchildren soon to be born. She will be missed by all of her cherished friends. Mary and Bill came to Canada, from Scotland, in 1953 to start a new life for their family. Mary spent many of her early years in Canada raising three children and building a strong group of friends. In her later years Mary could be found working in the Connaught Hotel and later as a Physio Therapist Aid. Mary discovered the game of golf at 54 and was soon playing 5 rounds a week for the next 20 years and her love of cards allowed her to spend happy times with family . Mary’s involvement with the Chedoke church spans more than 55 years. Mary will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Cremation has taken place with a private family internment. A memorial service to Celebrate Mary’s life to be held at Chedoke Presbyterian Church, 865 Mohawk Road west on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1p.m. In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the Chedoke Presbyterian Church Memorial fund in Mary’s name would be greatly appreciated by the family.
