Mr nonno I'm going to miss you so much and going to miss talking to you every day at 7:15 before school. You always made me laugh and I'm going to mis you so much. I know you are watching down on me and I'm going to make you proud.

25 years ago I drove my motorcycle to pick up his daughter at his house. He came to talk to me and I thought this guy was crazy. He told me about some cousin who lost a leg and some other relative who got killed on his bike. I thought there is no way that this relation will last with this guy because he is crazy. As time went by I saw him chasing his grandchildren, wearing a wig, his teeth out to one side and walking like an ape on planet of apes. I thought to myself, “Are those his teeth?” I then realized that Mario was crazy. He was crazy for his kids, nuts for his grandkids and insane for his wife.  I talked to his grandkids and most of them said that they were his favourite because of the way he made them feel. Mario was always worried about his kids. Some he didn't have to worry about, some he worried about a little, and some he never stopped worrying about. If he asked you for help and it took 15 minutes to get there you were already 25 minutes late. I tried not to ask him for help because if you asked him to pick up a melon or something, he would either come in minutes or first thing in the morning around 5:00 am. I learned from Mario that in order to live a full life, I have to be crazy for my kids, nuts for any future grandkids, and insane for my wife. On Mario's last day he couldn't speak or move his eyes which were wide open. His wife looked at him but he could not speak. A tear rolled down his face not to say, “I want to live,” but to say to Rosa, “Thanks for being a beautiful wife and thanks for a beautiful life.”

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Capano family with the passing of Maurizio Capano.  I met him long ago but know that his grand-duaghter Sarah Capano loved him and spoke very highly of him.  He is now out of suffering and in God's hands.

Sarah, Ashra and I are very sorry to hear about the passing of your nonno. I truly can relate to how devestating it is to lose your loving grandparent.  We want to send our deepest condolences to you and your siblings and children for the loss of their dear nonno and grand nonno.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this difficult time.

Dear Nonno,

Tears streamed down my face and my heart aches in pain as I reminisce about you, my Grandfather who accepted me always and, unconditionally.

Never did a day go by where I didn't feel how much you loved all us. I know you loved me and I know you knew that, I love you too.

Over the years you've left gentle messages deep within my heart and there, you will live forever.  I will forever remember your gentle arms that held me close as a small child and it's in these memories, I teach my own children.

 Nonno, you were big part of my own personal “Life map”. You taught me to love with open arms and never ever did you turn me away. No one will ever know how very much I hurt today as your physical body leaves us.

I will forever remember your smile and the kindness you have brought to our Family…. 

I will remember you as a Man I looked up to and, one of the few that I have ever truly loved.

Your smile will live in my heart forever and in all of this … the only thing that brings me peace, is knowing that one day, we will see each other again.
