Melanie Lyn Burnett

She is survived by her loving parents, Wendy and Phil Burnett. She leaves behind her daughter Mackenzie (Trevor) and her son Nathan (Sydney); her brothers Jason (Rachel), John (Shandis) and Joe (Caitlyn). Melanie was a loving niece to Joanne Brelsford, Ron (Darleen) Burnett and Medda Burnett. She will be sadly missed but forever remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by; her paternal grandparents Florence and James Burnett; her maternal grandparents Rhoda and Robert Rothwell; her uncles Thom Brelsford, Bob Rothwell, and Vincent Burnett; her aunts Susan Rothwell and Debbie Nash; and her cousin Eve Brelsford.

Melanie loved her many years on Vancouver Island as a lab technician where her analytical skills were developed and later used in Brantford and Burlington when she returned to Ontario.

She was a creative gardener with an amazing skill at growing every variety of flowers and plants. During her hard battle with diabetes Mell found a love for reading the Bible and found comfort in the words of the Lord. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 2nd from 1-4 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 435 Limeridge Rd E, Hamilton.
