Murdie is the father to Joy (Johnny) Welsh and Blair Campbell, and grandfather to Julienna & Johnny Murdoch Welsh, and Ryley and Jake Campbell. Beloved husband of the late Grace Campbell for 44 years (52 years if Grace was still here). Dear brother of Colin Campbell, the late Irene Duncan, Donna Lillquist and the late Alistair Campbell (Liz). Murdie will be sadly missed by his blind curling & blind bowling friends & family.
Special thanks to everyone involved in the care shown to Murdie since Grace has passed including the care from Parkdale Pharmacy, the CNIB & St. Joseph’s Homecare team who have been an incredible support. Murdie has been an inspiration despite his visual & hearing challenges - hiking, cleaning the alleyway, volunteering in the local parks, operating a table saw, learning to use an iPhone and keeping busy. Murdie has had a Seeing Eye dog for many years, 4 dogs in total. His last dog Flannel has also been diagnosed with a kidney disease & a cancerous tumor and will be put to rest alongside Murdie and Grace. Both Flannel & Murdoch have been on many adventures together & also aged together. Special thanks to Linda Bajic, Jeff Debruin, Brenda Hind, Barb & Steve Reavley who have cared for Flannel & Murdie when needed & offered a great deal of support to Joy Welsh.
