

She is predeceased by her Husband George in 2004 and her son Dirk 2015 and her sister Heather and grandson Kyle in 2021. She is survived by her 4 children. Michael, Pattie and her husband Gilles, Kelly and his wife Lori, Mark and his wife Jess. Her brother Gordon and sisters Bonnie and Arlene.
She will be missed by her 7 grandchildren Robert, Anna, Scott, Rachel, Joshua, Cory and Courtney and 11 great-grand children. Krystian, Troy, Ethan, Chloe, Elliott, Finn, John, Isaac, Henry, William, Tilly, Winston and Norah.
Norah VanderPloeg (nee Vadum) was born June 24th 1928 at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto and moved to Hamilton when she was 10 years old. Norah met her husband while attending the Hess St school and married in 1947. She was an accomplished artist and some of her work still hangs in the Hamilton Public Library. In 1980 she travelled with her husband to Africa to help establish the New Apostolic Church. Norah spent her time taking care of visiting ministers and the congregations while living in Ghana for 2 years, while there she survived a coup, was briefly jailed and then placed under house arrest which hastened the move to Togo where she spent an additional 16 years before retiring to Canada.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Thursday, February 17th 3-5 and 7-9PM. Funeral Service will be at the New Apostolic Church, 4209 Palladium Way, Burlington. Cremation to follow.
