Olga Bashnuk

On Friday December 13, 2013, the gates of heaven were opened to welcome a beautiful and gentle soul Olga in her 100th year; our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Waiting to reunite into their arms of love in heaven is her beloved son Ronald (1952), her husband John (1993); her parents, three brothers and six sisters. Leaving behind to mourn, is Olga’s sister Julie along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.

Olga leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity and unconditional love to her daughters Beverley Galassi (Jack Norris) and Arkley Grego. Her grandchildren Kim (Kirk Andrews), Craig Galassi (Stacey Nezic), Jennifer (Rob Radakovic) and

Amanda Grego were all serenaded by Grandma’s rendition of “Down in the Valley”.

“Gramma” adored her great grandchildren Mark and Alex Andrews, Madison, Jordan and Westin Radakovic, Jacob and Braeden Grego.

Olga gave to her community and church and was a past president of the Catholic Women’s League for St.Nicholas Catholic Parish for 10 years. Special thanks to the staff of Billings Court Manor for their exceptional and compassionate care.

Friends and family will be received at the Markey – Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King St.E (at Kenilworth Ave. S) on Monday December 16th from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm with Panachyda at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.

Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church (260 Melvin Ave.) on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10am, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery. If desired, In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be

greatly appreciated by the family.
