Dear Alexandra, Devon, Ben, Tashiya, Maggie and Desiree.  I am so sorry to be writing my condolences to you this late.  I only found out today about Paul's death, and cannot relay to you how saddened and shocked I was to get the news!  I can only imagine your sadness and grief!  I met Paul at Delta when I moved there as an Educational Assistant for two blind students.  Paul introduced himself to the two students first, shaking hands with them and telling them who he was.  Because he took the time to do that before shaking hands with me, he was forever my friend.  As numerous other people have mentioned before, Paul's infectious laugh will be forever imprinted on my mind whenever I think of him or hear his name mentioned.

May God keep you all in his embrace and help you to get through this sad time in your life.

Dear Stacy and chldren.  Mere words cannot express how sad this news has made me. My deepest sympathyies with you and your family.

My condolences to the Brown family on the loss of your loving husband and father.  I will always remember that big toothy smile of his.

Sincere condolences are extended to Paul's family.  I worked with him at Arrell Youth Detention Centre during a couple of summers and then on some OSSTF committees. He was a bright light with a glowing smile and I know his loss is enormous.  May the memories of the good times provide you with some comfort.  You remain in my prayers.

I was deeply saddened by the tragic news. I must agree with many others that Paul always had a knack for making you feel better and putting a smile on your face. You knew right away that you were in the company of a friend. His demeanor was infectious. Bubba was a very special individual with a huge heart. I will keep the family in my prayers as they grieve through this time. 
I think of him at this moment and miss his smile and gentle laughter.

CHCH TV is when Paul & I met - I'm the "other" Paul - he was someone special for sure.  Sadly when I read of his passing the other day my wife & kids too were quickly saddened yet we had the good fortune of meeting for only a brief but everlasting while.  Paul was always a source of inspiration and full of life and laughter - such a great, great guy!  One of my fondest and proudest moments of him was watching him  walk all the way up to the top of the CN Tower!!  It was tough but he did it!  He did it to prove he can do anything and he did - he has touched the lives of thousands of people and left a wonderful legacy forever.  I will continue to offer my daily prayers for his soul, Alexandra and all his children.

Paul and I met at Kingswood Music Theatre while we were both going to university and we'd kept in touch for over 20+ years.  My deepest sympathies to Paul's family who I know were the centre of his universe.  I will miss his kindness and laughter.  He was taken from us far far too soon.

It was an honour to know Paul.  His spirit shone through...always with a huge smile ...he exuded happiness.   Alex, Paul spoke of his family with so much love in his voice.  He will be missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Paul`s sudden passing. I attended Carleton at the same time as Paul and would see him occasionally in Hamilton in the years since school. He always had a smile and warm greeting as we caught up with each other`s lives. He was truly a nice guy! Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time.

I first had the distinct pleasure of meeting this incredible soul while we were on residence at Carleton University.  Even then you knew he was destined to become the man he did and to have the affect on so many people along the way.  My deepest sympathies for his entire family as well as all those who were fortunate to call (and most importantly) be called his friend.  I will miss your laughter...our FB chats about Carleton, our families and the kids...although we've lost you for now am comforted knowing your laughter is now echoing through the halls of Heaven. We have known Paul since he was a little boy, and saw him grow to be such a thoughtful, caring young man. We will miss his big warm hugs and his smile that would light up a room.  Such a loss!  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family at this most difficult time.

Any man that drinks Keith's Red is OK in my book. What a beautiful man! It is so remarkably unfortunate to have the briefest of time we had with Paul. My favorite moment will always be that lightbulb moment he had with me on stage. You see he had this habit of looking up to the ceiling as if the script were up there for him to read. Once I urged him to look into my eyes and deliver his lines, honesty and magic happened. He became the part and his wonderful soul shone through. Sometimes I would have to get on tip toes to get that contact and when he saw me, he knew he was in a safe place and just let it go. That's my selfish moment for me to have forever. I am certain he shared that purity with all he knew...you can't fake that! I will miss him for that and all he could have been.
...and God...you may want to take cover when Paul swings a golf club!

My sincerest condolences to his family.  I dad the pleasure of meeting Paul at Eastmount park a few years ago.  Paul was a caring and giving individual who will be missed by many people whose lives were touched in some way by him, including my daughter who went to Delta while Paul was teaching there.  We're all going to miss him at the park next summer, it's just not going to be the same without him.  Play ball!  R.I.P. Mr. Brown.

What a wonderful friend and person.  I feel so lucky to be able to say that we were such good friends for so many years.  We met at Carleton University and had an instant connection - and we have stayed friends ever since.  Paul was so good at keeping in touch and reaching out to people. I first met Paul about 15 years ago when we rode together on patrol at the OPP in Cayuga. He was an auxiliary officer, and as the shift sergeant, I could choose who he rode with....I always picked him to ride with me, because I enjoyed his company so much. 
Over the years, I spoke to his class on numerous occasions, and it was clear to see that he was much loved by his students, who recognized, as I did, his great humour, empathy and caring. A great loss for us all. My thoughts are with his family.

There are no words that can convey the shock and disbelief we felt when we heard of Paul's passing. His generous spirit and infectious kindness will be missed by everyone who knew him. The teaching community will miss a mentor, a coach, a caring teacher and a friend.  And I feel I need to thank all of his family members for sharing such a wonderful and inspirational person with the community. 'It takes a village ...' and through his career and volunteer work he constantly contributed to the  village in Hamilton. The devastating loss will be difficult, but I can only hope and pray that being reminded of the lives that Paul has touched can eventually bring you some comfort. I found out today that Paul had died doing what he loved the most - teaching.  Paul and I met while I co-ordinated the Community Facilities branch of the Board - he worked for a couple of summers in the jail, if my memory serves.  Paul was a big man with a wonderful big laugh and big smile.  The HWDSB has lost a talented man ... and as someone already said ... this very good man has left us way too soon.  My condolensces to his grieving family.

I only knew Paul briefly when we performed in To Kill A Mockingbird twice this year, but he certainly made an impression.  Both times I found him to be friendly and fun to work with.  His engaging smile and positive energy will be missed by many.  My deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and students.

It has been a honour to work with him when I was volunteering at Sir Allan MacNab school earlier this year. He was a very dedicated and devoted teacher. My condolences go out to his family.

To say that Paul had an impact on the people he met is an understatement, a big man with an even bigger heart.
I first met Paul when we were cast together in the Binbrook Little Theatre production of 'The Foursome' back in August.  He was nervous about his acting role and was always the first to arrive for rehearsals.  It was immediately clear that Paul was perfectly cast for his role as an honest, compassionate family man who valued his friendships.
Although Paul struggled with memorizing his lines and fretted constantly he was a natural; he said many times that he wanted to stretch and challenge himself; I cannot think of anyone who could have stretched himself any more.  Paul would arrive at the theatre many evenings,  totally exhausted after trying to balance his many other commitments, but he always had a smile and he was always willing to give 100%.  He wanted to do good and his dedication was inspiriting.
Paul's role as 'Donnie' was a very big part in the play requiring him to the memorization of almost 96 pages of continuous and fast dialog; but his role as a cast member was even bigger.  He brought his own unique style to every performance and he was all at once, inspiring, funny and challenging.   He would often mix up, change or adlib his lines and would cause us to wonder where he would take us that particular evening.  It became a running joke before each show, we would all shake our hands out as if mocking the 'roll of the dice', we all wondered what Paul would give us on stage.  We would all laugh because it was all part of a live performance and the chemistry between us had already been solidified.  We stepped on the stage for every performance as if we had all been friends of 15 years.  Paul took all the joking in good spirit but he was very critical of his own performance.  The fact is, he was a natural, he was very comfortable on stage and he I believe he truly enjoyed himself.  We all knew he would do a great job and he always did.
I wish I could have been given another chance to act with Paul, he was fun, kind and always made me smile.  I know that there are hundreds and more likely thousands of people who feel the same way and we are all grieving now.  Paul was one of a kind, he put everyone else's needs ahead of his own, he gave so much that it is hard to quantify.  He spoke passionately about his love for his family, teaching, coaching and umpiring and truly believed he felt as though he was the lucky one.  
God truly does take the good too young and my heart is heavy with pain and sorrow but I take comfort in having been a small part of Paul's life and I will carry many fond and deep memories of him through the remainder of my life.

Paul was an amazing Carleton alumni ambassador, formerly serving as Hamilton Branch President and proudly supporting his alma mater whenever called upon. He will be missed by his extended Carleton alumni family.

I have known Paul Brown for 22 years (more than half my life) I first met his smiling face in September 1990 when entering my first semester of Westmount, he was the Geography teacher.  I have to say that he made high school easy when I needed someone to listen he was always willing no matter what.  He helped me through a great deal of life over the years. He also made time to listen and then tell you the way it should be lol.  I was a very lovable man that help so many and after I heard the news all I could do was cry to imagine my life, his wife's life and his kid's life without him there as encouragement to get through the most difficult of tasks.  He helped so many in such a short time. The one this that helps is that he will forever live in each person's heart that he touch which was tens of thousands.  I miss you so much and life as we know it will be different knowing you aren't here with us.

I had the pleasure of meeting Paul at many OSSTF functions and rallies.  He was a committed to social activist while always maintaining an optimistic outlook on life.  On behalf of all his PSSP OSSTF colleagues, I send send my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I am deeply saddened and stunned by this news.  I was a  highschool friend of Paul's and we had lost touch for years.  Paul saw my dad's obituary in the paper in November and came to Crestmount to see me.  It was so wonderful to re-unite with him and we exchanged emails.  Neither of us knew that we were in education, he as a teacher and myself  as a teacher and then administrator.  He was exactly the same as I remembered him.  A big teddy bear with a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh.    He was  a kind and gentle soul and touched everyone who he connected with.  He put his heart and soul in to everything he did and he was a wonderful friend.  We caught up that evening but not enough.  I can't believe he has died.  My deepest sympathy goes to his family, and in particular his wife and children.  I am sure that Paul has left a wonderful legacy for his children.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of sorrow. He will be forever remembered fondly.

I am so very shocked & saddened to hear of Paul's passing! Paul was very good friends with my two younger brothers during their days as students at Westmount High School in Hamilton, and I had the pleasure of getting to know him well through them. I remember clearly just how full of joy he always was, and how everyone loved to be in his presence because of his wonderful personality!

When I saw Paul a number of years later, I was thrilled to hear that he had gone into the teaching profession, just as I had done, because I knew without a doubt that Paul would be able to relate to his students well and would be a superb role model, which he most definitely was. During this conversation with Paul, I could tell from the look on his face that he was finding his chosen career most rewarding, just as much as his students were benefiting from his abundant knowledge, passion for the subjects he taught, his compassion, and - of course - his infectious enthusiasm & joyous laugh!

Given this, I was saddened to hear that Paul took ill while at work, as I know that this will make his loss even more painful & bewildering for the children he was teaching this semester. While I am somewhat comforted with the thought that Paul's last hours involved him doing what he enjoyed deeply, my heart goes out to his students in this semester's classes, as well as all who were blessed to have him as a teacher in the past, because I know that they too have been hurt deeply by this loss.

Most importantly, I want to offer my deepest condolences to Alexandra, Devon, Ben, Tashiya, Maggie, and Desiree. My thoughts & prayers are with you all as you go through this most painful season in your lives. I pray that God's love will strengthen you & sustain you through all of this, and I also pray that you will find comfort in the fact that Paul is now with his Creator for eternity & that he will always be watching over you with the same love & appreciation that he felt & expressed to you every day.

Mr. Brown was such an influence on my daughter when she was in high school.  The profession she is in today is due to him and his influence.  RIP Mr. Brown such a sad sad loss to everyone.
