Pauline Elizabeth Zamprogna

August 1, 1946September 25, 2013

Pauline’s family would like to announce the very unexpected passing of one of Canada’s foremost ballet teachers. Born in Cheshire, England and trained under the guidance of the Royal Academy of Dance, Pauline went on to dance in several of England’s most prestigious companies before working in TV, film, and in London’s West End, alongside such stars as Albert Finney and Judi Dench. She will be missed by hundreds of students that she guided, nurtured and encouraged over the past 37 years. Pauline will be enormously missed by her dancing partner and husband Lou, their children Gema (Dan), Amanda (Steve) and Dominic (Linda) and of course her grandchildren Daniella, Sam, Luka, James, Auldyn, Anbilliene, and Eliana. Also missing her are her sister Margaret (David) and her nieces Debbie, Melanie, and Adele, and their children, as well as her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joanne and Harold Naidus. Very special thanks to the exceptionally caring doctors, nurses and support staff in the I.C.U. department at the Juravinski Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s name to the Leukemia society of Canada at would be greatly appreciated by the family. A private ceremony has taken place but the family would like to extend an invitation to all who knew her to join us in a Celebration of Pauline’s life on Sunday Oct. 13th 2013 from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm in the lobby of the Dofasco Centre for the Arts, (Theatre Aquarius) 190 King William St.

It has taken me some time to believe and realise the loss of my fabulous Auntie Pauline. I still, to this day believe her life was taken away too quickly - she was a beautiful person inside and out. I would like to send all my love to my wonderful family across the pond and am sure we will keep her memory alive x x x

Dear Lou, Gemma, Amanda and Dominic and all your families.
We are all so sorry to hear of Pauline's death, and we remember her with much affection. Our granddaughter Emma Watts has just started ballet at the Dance Centre, and I remember very fondly the years that Rachel and Victoria spent dancing at the Dance Centre.
I also provided balloons for the Dance Centre graduations, and I had such fun doing that. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
With Love,
Anne-Louise, John, Rachel,Victoria and Matthew Watts

So sad to hear of your family's loss. I spent much of my childhood in Pauline's ballet class down at the Dance Centre. My heart goes out to her family, both immediate and extended.

Dear Lou and family
I am saddened to hear the news of Pauline's death. What an overwhelming sense of loss you must all be feeling right now - a beautiful wife and mother, as well as a gifted teacher who cared for and inspired her students over many many years. Wishing you peace and comfort at this difficult time.

Our condolences to the whole Zamprogna family. Did not know Pauline personally, but the post about her love for her husband and family reminds me of Dominic and his beautiful wife & family. In a world where true love & commitment are very rare, it exemplifies the values that have been passed down I'm sure to all their children. May you find peace in the memories that you have shared. Love Steve & Barbara Harnedy (fans of Dom)

I will never forget the last time we saw Pauline at Joanne & Harold's 50th anniversary. Her Love for you Lou was evident. The two of you dancing together as if it was the first time you met. She could be sitting or standing still, but her eyes continued to dance . I will never forget those eyes!

We pray for the strength to you Gema, Domenic and Amanda and all your precious grandchildren...what a gift!

Our Love and Blessings

Diane, Bernard, Jeanine, Joanne, Dustin and Auntie Mary
