Predeceased by her loving husband, Rimas (Jack) Bagdonas in 2002 and her parents Feliksas and Elzbieta Tiknius.
Survived by her children Regina Feeney (Joseph), Ramona Scharafanowicz (Peter), and Richard Bagdonas (Lisa), grandchildren Kristina Miranda and Matthew Chiarelli, and three great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by extended family and friends, in Canada, the United States, and Lithuania.
Regina and her parents arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia in November, 1948, shortly after WWII. She met Jack in Sudbury, at a Lithuanian Church Dance, in January, 1949. They moved to Hamilton with their young family, in November of 1956, where Jack began his career with Dofasco.
During her younger years, Regina worked at the flagship Eaton's Department Store in downtown Hamilton. Her keen sense of fashion and style were an added benefit to her customers. She shared many fond memories and great stories of her time spent there.
She was an active Scout Leader within the Hamilton Lithuanian Community, participating over the years in events at Camp Romuva in Muskoka and other scout jamborees in Europe and the U.S. Jack and Regina enjoyed being part of various Lithuanian Folk Dance groups in their younger years and continued their love of dance, particularly the Tango, "cutting a rug" on many dance floors throughout their lives.
They loved to travel to various destinations, including trips to Europe, Florida, and numerous cruises throughout the Caribbean Islands. Jack and Regina's travels also included numerous trips back to their homeland, Lithuania, to visit friends and relatives.
Until her death, Regina kept up to date on a wide variety of current news events, ranging from complex world matters to who were the latest cast members on 90 Day Fiancé -- and loved having discussions on all the above. She enjoyed watching old classic movies late into the evening alongside her precious cat, Jackie.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Lithuanian Martyrs Catholic Church, 2185 Stavebank Road, Mississauga on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 am with Visitation taking place 1 hour before, from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial to follow at St. John's Lithuanian Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Children's Make a Wish Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
