Passed away at Grandview Lodge in Dunnville, Ontario on Thursday, July 7th, 2022 in his 108th year. Reunited with his beloved wife Margaret (nee Smith). Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Violet Bentley, sister Lurlene Gray and brothers Ronald, Rupert (Bert), Leslie, Desmond (Des) and Neville (Nev). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Reg was born in Liverpool, England and came to Canada as a young lad with his family in 1924. He was a proud WWII Veteran having served with the Governor General’s Foot Guards, seeing action in France, Germany and Holland. After the War he returned to Hamilton, working for Stradwick’s Tile until 1950 when he was relocated to Toronto, settling in Scarborough and remaining there until 2007 when he returned to his childhood neighbourhood of Stoney Creek. He was known as a compassionate man and loyal friend. Life member of Hamilton Veterans Service League. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 2-4 pm. Funeral Service in the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 10 am. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
