OBITUARY
Robert William Fennell
April 17, 1939 – January 8, 2021
Robert (“Bob”) William Fennell passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on January 8, 2021, at the age of 81. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Elizabeth Fennell (nee Long), son Shawn (Wendy), and grandchildren Calvin, Kendra, Zach, Vanessa and MacKenzie. Missed by his brothers David, Ron and Ted.
Bob was a loving husband, father, and devoted grandfather. His family meant the world to him, and he would do anything for them. He was a carpenter by trade, yet he was so much more of a creator and builder whereby he was always fixing things and helping family and friends complete many projects. He was a humble man who was an amazing role model to Shawn, imparting his guidance, and lending support to his son’s endeavors. Bob enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, Joyce. They went on road trips to many beautiful places making many memories. He was a lover of trains, and was an avid collector of model railroads and enjoyed sharing this hobby with his son, grandchildren, and friends. He was a proud employee of Mohawk college for many years.
Bob will be missed, but for those fortunate enough to have had him in their lives, he will never be forgotten. His smile lit up the room. His gentle soul and his kindness will be cherished forever. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand when needed.
A private celebration of Bob’s life will take place on Saturday January 16th. You can view the ceremony live or on replay at

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Juravinski Hospital for all their care and support in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the Hamilton SPCA would be appreciated.

So very sad to hear that cousin Bob has been ill for the past couple of months and has now passed away. The picture with the beaming smile that you have included with this obituary is so typical of how he always looked when we saw him at the many Fennell family picnics. I have wonderful memories of Bob, along with his three brothers, always chuckling and taking part in the crazy fun. My thoughts are with all members of Bob’s immediate family at this sad time.

Very sorry to hear about Bob's passing. A wonderful sense of humour and a great smile. I fondly remember the baseball games and conversations at the many family picnics when we were younger, and seeing Bob when we could all make it to the picnics of later years. Thinking of Joyce, Shawn, Wendy & family, the brothers, cousins, aunts , uncles & entire family.
