BURLINGTON – Ron Ash, 61, passed peacefully July 3, 2023 at St. Peter’s hospital in Hamilton, ON after his short battle with cancer. He was born March 27, 1962, in St. John’s, NL and was predeceased by his parents Ronald (Toby) Ash and Joan Johnson (Bob).
Ron graduated from Bishop’s College High School in St. John’s in 1980. Following graduation, he quickly poured his passion into the retail food industry having served 22 years with Sobey’s throughout Nova Scotia and Southern Ontario. Ron’s career progressed with Lastman’s Bad Boy Furniture of the GTA where he demonstrated a passion for sales. Ron was great at sales and everyone that had the opportunity to know and work with Ron would all agree that he was a natural people person, there to provide leadership and mentorship wherever he could. He loved to spend quality time in the company of his friends and had touched many people in a very positive way. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and peer’s.
Ron is survived by his daughter Kristen of Yarmouth, NS and daughter Avalon of Burlington, ON. In addition, Ron leaves behind his loving brother Derrick Ash (Vanessa) of Calgary, Dawn Bartlett (Paul) of St. John’s, Jennifer Forbes of Dartmouth, Kimberly Stewart (Eric), Shawn Johnson (Tanya) of Nova Scotia and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to our aunt Ruby Winsor, and cousins Cheryl Mitchell (Larry) and Heather McCoy (Kevin) from Brampton, ON for their incredible support over the past 12 months.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, Aug 5 at Signal Hill in St. John’s NL followed by a small reception for close friends and family.
In addition, we will have a celebration of life for Ron at The Judge & Jury of 1222 Walkers Line, Burlington, on Sunday, July 9 between 12 and 2pm so that Ron’s friends and peers from Burlington and surrounding area can say a final farewell to their wonderful friend.
