A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and steadfast friend, Ron’s legacy is one of intense moral value, quiet strength, and unwavering independence. Ron was the beloved husband of Diana, his partner in life for 49 beautiful years. Together, they shared a bond rooted in mutual respect, quiet adventures, home renovations, and a deep love for one another. Whether planning getaways or simply enjoying each other’s company, they were happiest when side by side. Ron was a proud father to Todd (Tennille), Derek (Kelli), and Kyle — each of whom carry forward his fierce determination and practical wisdom. He was a loving grandfather to Hunter and Mya. Ron was the cherished son of George and Joyce, and brother to Susan (deceased), Nancy (Jarvey), Debra (David), and David (Marilyn).
A man who marched to the beat of his own drum — quite literally — Ron was a drummer, a jack of all trades, and someone who never shied away from a challenge. Whether he was installing in-ground pools, supporting warehouse operations, fixing computers, tackling engineering problems, or working in the oil fields of northern Alberta, Ron approached every task with hands-on enthusiasm.
Ron had a deep love for music. Whether behind the drum kit or simply listening, music was a constant rhythm in his life — a source of joy, expression, and connection.
Through the years, Ron treasured time with his family. Annual trips to Collingwood were a special tradition, filled with laughter, stories, and cherished memories. He especially loved moments with just Diana, enjoying the peace and simplicity of each other’s presence. Even as he faced a cancer journey with characteristic stoicism and practicality, Ron remained active and engaged with life. He met each day with courage, refusing to be defined by illness. Friends describe him as “the best friend one could ever have” — loyal, thoughtful, and always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear. Ron’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His independent spirit, moral value, love for music, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Ron’s life will take place at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 . Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m.
