Salvatore Vizzini (“Sammy”) passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario on Thursday, January 16th, 2025, at the age of 60. Born in Hamilton, Ontario on May 8th, 1964, to Salvatore and Maria Vizzini.
Sammy is predeceased by his father, Salvatore Vizzini. He is survived by his mother Maria Vizzini and his siblings, Josephine Vizzini and Charles Vizzini (Carol). Sam’s absence will also be felt by his niece Gabrielle Vizzini (Wesley).
Sammy was an avid collector of Star Wars memorabilia, hockey cards, and movies. Sports were important to him; he enjoyed his time with the Cathedral Boys’ Football team when he was in high school and took pleasure in spending time with his parents watching Saturday Night Hockey. Through spending time with his mom, he developed a love for food. In particular, family dinners were really important to him as he was fond of sharing the joy of food with loved ones.
He was quick-witted, sharp, and enjoyed laughter. He had a knack for puzzles and spent many hours speed-solving the Rubik’s Cube.
We would like to thank the team in the ICU and the Nephrology ward at St. Joseph’s Hospital and staff at Macassa Lodge for their diligent efforts and time caring for Sammy.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation for Sammy at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave East, Hamilton, Ontario on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM . The Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will take place at Regina Mundi Catholic Church, 631 Mohawk Rd West, Hamilton, Ontario on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
