With heavy hearts Shirley's family announces the passing of this gentle soul on Monday, March 7, 2016 in her 79th year. She will always be cherished and sadly missed by her oldest sister, Dorothy (the late William Layland). Shirley has been called home to be with her Lord and reunited with her loving parents Norman and Annie Wilkins and sisters Gladys (the late Fred Wolsey), Millie (Ken Burn) and Grace (the late Don Scott). Shirley is the beloved aunt of Anne (Doug), Norma (Jim), Jerry (Chris), Sandi (Frank), Cathy (Kirk), Donald (Joanne), Nancy (Randy), Colleen (Bill) and David. She will also be fondly remembered by many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Shirley resided at Dundurn Place Care Centre for more than 20 years and was loved by both residents and staff. Sincere thanks are extended to the Dundurn Place staff and Dr. Ralph Epstein for their excellent and compassionate care of her special needs over the years. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennnell Ave. E., on Saturday, March 12th from 9 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Burkholder Cemetery.
