

Born in San Benedetto in Perillis, L’Aquila, Italy
Passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by his children after a brief illness.
Beloved husband of the late Francesca for 54 years. Loving father to Carol McMahon and Joe D’Ambrosio (Sue), proud grandpa and nonno to Andrew McMahon, Olivia and Jacob D’Ambrosio.
He will be greatly missed by sister-in-law Rosa D’Ambrosio and nieces Josie D’Ambrosio and Dina Vandenberg (Peter) and nephew Tony DiGregorio (Domenica) in Hamilton. Also by brother-in-law Antonio Patrizio (Titina) in Venezuela and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Chiara D’Ambrosio, sister Giovanna Leuzzi (Martino), brother Pasquale D’Ambrosio, brother-in-law Benedetto Patrizio (Angelina), sisters-in-law Vincenza (Luigi) Patrizio and Anatolia DiGregorio (Nazarreno) and parents-in-law Giovanni and Maria Patrizio.
As a retired City of Hamilton Public Works employee, Silvestro spent many years paving the sidewalks we walked on. He enjoyed gardening (he could make anything grow), good food and spending time with family and friends. Silvestro was an entertaining storyteller whose sharp mind and gift for detail will be missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sondhi for the excellent care provided and all the compassionate medical and support staff at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with Vigil Prayers at 3:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 128 Edgemont Street South, on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at 10am. Entombment Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
