Stephen is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda Kir (nee Nicolle), his loving daughter, Erica Jarrell (Donnie), and his proud son, Sean Kir. He will be forever cherished by his sister, Debbie Laidman (Doug), and greatly missed by his niece, Laura Cometto (Mike), and great-nieces, Abbigail and Eleanor, who loved him dearly. Stephen will also be deeply missed by his beloved grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, and Nicolai, who brought endless joy to his life. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and best of friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Stephen lived a life full of adventure, music, and a passion for living life to the fullest. He loved fishing on a quiet morning, playing a good game of snooker, and hitting the open road on his motorcycle, always embracing the freedom and joy those moments brought him. His humour, kindness, and zest for life left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Upper Wentworth on Monday, November 24th from 5:30pm-9pm, where friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honour Stephen’s remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Bob Kemp Hospice, whose compassion and care meant so much to Stephen and his family.
Stephen’s adventurous heart, love for music, fishing, snooker, and motorcycles will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
