Steve was a loving husband to Kristen (Kerr), and a doting father to Freddy (age 5) and Sabrina (age 2). He was a beloved son to Rob and Glenda Burditt, son-in-law to Deborah Kerr and Joel (deceased), brother to Lindsay and Andrew (Wegman), Jason and Meaghan (Burditt), and brother-in-law to Jasmine (Kerr) and Scott (Johnston). Always the fun uncle to Brooke, Sydney, Sierra, Lillian, Skylar, Theodore, and Avery. He will be sorely missed by his family and many dear friends. Steve was diagnosed with colon cancer in April of 2025. Despite his determination and the efforts of his medical team, treatment was unsuccessful.
Steve was full of wit, humour, empathy, and curiosity. He was the most thoughtful, supportive husband, the most fiercely proud Dad, the funniest and most caring friend, the most interesting guy in the room, and a hugely talented musician. He will be remembered for his passion for euphonium and brass bands, and his numerous hobbies and interests.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. on Friday, September 5th from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at The Salvation Army Mountain Citadel, 835 Stone Church Rd E. on Saturday, September 6th at 11am.
Steve's family would like to thank everyone for the absolutely incredible outpouring of support as Steve bravely faced this horrible illness. Thank you to the social work team at Juravinski for making the kids' last memories of Daddy happy ones at Sabrina's special Ticat birthday party. Thank you to all the medical staff who took care of us with such kindness. Thank you for the messages, the meals, the donations, the prayers, the visits, the love.
