Terry died peacefully at Toronto East General Hospital on September 25th after a brief battle with cancer. She was 60. Terry is survived by her partner of 30 years, Greg Pieon. She also leaves behind cousin Josephine Fattore and her children James & Joshua, cousin Charlotte Carpenter, husband Brian and their children Janine, Pat and Chris, brother-in-law Rod Pieon, wife Vivienne & children Andrew and Martin, brother-in-law Cliff Pieon, wife Sharon & daughter Michelle, sister-in-law Kathleen Lewis and daughters Kristina and Karalyn Dodd, along with their children Austin, Duncan and Kristofer. She is predeceased by her mother Stella Kurowski (nee Kokoski) and father Zygmunt Kurowski.
Terry retired from Bell Canada in 2011. She was an animal lover all of her life, raising rabbits as a young girl and owning dogs, cats and raising Budgies and Canaries as an adult. She loved the toy dog breeds. Her dogs Simon the Papillion and Cricket the tea cup Pomeranian will miss her terribly as she missed her Pomeranian Sinders who recently passed away. Terry had a particular affection for the exotic cats (Siamese, Abyssinian, Bengal) but still offered her home to a couple of strays. She believed that a cat coming into your yard was good luck.
In the warmer months her attention turned to gardening. Roses were her favourite and she had many. She also grew lilies, peonies, tulips, daffodils, Iris, wisteria, clematis, various shrubs and a smattering of herbs. Terry hated space in her yard and took every opportunity to fill the smallest space with some type of plant.
Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held at Truscott, Brown & Dwyer Funeral Chapel, 1309 King Street East, Hamilton, Ontario on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 am.
Terry is now with her best friend and mother, Stella.
For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to your local Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
