Tommy Murdoch passed away peacefully and happily in his sleep at the age 93. He has rejoined the love of his life Phyllis and they are once again on the dance floor and joined by many friends who have gone before. Tommy leaves to celebrate his life a devoted daughter Lynda, (Doug) and son Joseph as well as family in Scotland. He was born in Glasgow Scotland and immigrated to Canada after WWII finally settling in Hamilton Ontario. Tommy was a machinist by trade and after a number of jobs he went to work at Otis Elevator where he retired after 33 years’ service. He volunteered for many years with the RHLI Army Cadet Corp and spent many happy hours with Phyllis and their friends in the RHLI Officers Mess after parade on Tuesday nights. In later years Tommy could be found telling stories at his favourite haunt, the RHLI Veterans Association on Saturday afternoons and in evening dancing the feet off the ladies. Lynda and Joe would like to express heartfelt thanks to Lynda’s Husband Doug and to our dear friend Judy Mooney. Doug and Judy were instrumental in helping care for Tommy over the past few years whenever needed. Also thank you to all the members of the RHLI Veterans Association. Lynda has always been able to carry on her duties in the club knowing that if Tommy was in the club rooms, the members would watch out for him. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends in Canada and Scotland. Visitation at Crestmount Funeral Home 322 Fennell Ave E. Hamilton on Thursday, February 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, February 20th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
