

Verna peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Predeceased by her husband Harold Benjamin (1946) and her son George Harold (2010), her parents (George and Louise Kedge) and her 12 siblings. She is survived by her son Ronald Bruce and will be sadly missed by son George's wife Gail Mote. Verna was blessed with wonderful grandchildren- Jeremy (Michelle) Mote, Ryan (Misty) Mote, Tricia (Gregg) Feist, Lori (Rob) Ivanco and Tanya (Russell) Savage and great- grandchildren Emma Mote, Kaydence Mote, Xxander and Jaxon Savage and Kaila Ivanco. Verna is remembered and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Verna was employed for over 25 years at Loblaws after working for the National Steel Car during the war. Her retirement years have been filled with volunteer work with the Cancer Society, Lung Association, Lady Hamilton and the Red Cross. Visitation will be at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL (1309 King Street East, across from Gage Park at the delta) on Wednesday, December 12 from 4 pm to 8 pm. A Celebration of Verna’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, December 13 at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, a donation would be appreciated to a charity of your choice. The family would also like you to consider donation of a new toy to the funeral home's "Christmas Assistance Train" which helps provide Christmas gifts through the Wesley Urban Ministries' No Charge Christmas Store to almost 3000 children in our neighbourhood.
