

She is reunited with her beloved husband, Joseph (2015). Beloved mother of Wayne Sterling, Eva Sterling, Kevin (Patricia) Sterling, Arthur “Max” (Denise) Sterling, Noel Sterling, and David (Rachel) Sterling. Proud and devoted grandmother of, Khaleel, Keizhana, Jada, Mya, Tyra, Atarah, Amira, Tasia, Tyler, Nathalya, Amoya, Ashawyah, Jabal, Shaneika, Sade and one great grandchild.
Loving sister of Lincent Thomas, Jacqueline Bonfield, Harold Bondfield, Kenneth Bonfield, Hensle Bonfield, and Seivright Bonefield. She will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Vinel was born in Soho, St. Thomas, Jamaica and immigrated to Canada in the early 1970’s. Once she established herself here, her family joined so they could all enjoy a better life together. She enjoyed working in the Dietary Department and interacting with the residents at St. Joseph’s Villa for many years and continued to volunteer during her retirement.
During her life, her church was a very important part of her life. She enjoyed large family gatherings and time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for her family; there were never any leftovers, but the most important thing in her life was her grandchildren.The family would like to thank Julie Brooks and the entire church Family.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Thursday, September 4th from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. The Funeral Service to celebrate her life will take place at the Victory International Church, 2799 Barton Street East, Hamilton on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:30 am.
