Wayne Roy Chappel

Passed away suddenly at home in the early morning hours, surrounded by his family. Wayne was the beloved husband and soul mate of Dianne for 46 years. He was the devoted and proud father of Katharine (Keith) Henry, Karen (Gabriel) Ting, and Suzanne (Arthur) Winter. Loved by all of his grandchildren, Isabella, Ava, Jack, Charlotte, Max, Amelia and Chloe. He was an active, long-time member of West Highland Baptist Church, volunteering in both the finance and Sunday School departments. His spiritual journey commenced at the age of twelve when he began attending Christian Service Brigade. He later became a Brigade lieutenant serving in Hamilton for many years. He was a faithful Toronto Maple Leafs fan, loved his Hamilton Tiger-Cats and cheered on the Toronto Blue Jays through highs and lows. Wayne had a gentle spirit, a kind and generous heart and served many without the need for praise or fanfare. All who knew him will miss him. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit at the Cresmount Funeral Home – Fennell Chapel, 322 Fennell Ave East, Hamilton on Wednesday, November 29th from 6-9pm. Celebration of Life to take place at West Highland Baptist Church, 1605 Garth Street, Hamilton on Friday, December 1st at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation or Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) would be appreciated.
