Winnifred Ann Stefani

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Winnifred at St. Joseph’s Hospital, on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the age of 78. Beloved wife and best friend of Paride “Perry”. Loving mom of Michael (Rose), Lori (Darryll), and Patricia (Colin). Proud nana of Darryll Jr., Jennifer, Christina, Colton, Chloe, and Ewan. Second mother to Rosa (Tim) and nana as well to Aaron, and Ivy. Winnifred is now reunited with her parents Alfred and Flowella along with her brother Bill. Dear sister-in-law of Columba, Giulia (Marco), Antoniettia (Franco), Rina, Agnese, Ernesto (Anna), Leonilda, and Colleen. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins in Italy, Belgium and Canada. Always loved by dear family friends Marty and Pauline Tonaj and family. Predeceased by her in-laws Emilio and Luigia Stefani, Lina, Tullio, Mario, Pio, Vittorio, Ettore, and Bruna. Winnifred enjoyed being with her grandpets and playing cards with her neighbours. Her days were spent listening to country music while doing puzzles or playing solitaire. Mornings were spent having a cup of tea on the porch feeding the birds. Family dinners were always an enjoyable time and something she always looked forward to. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital for the kindness and compassion that was shown to Winnifred and her family. Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Roman Catholic Church (corner of Barton Street and Nash Road) on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 9 a.m. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
