Zack was a devoted husband, father, Nonno, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Dinko “Dan” (1988) and Zora “Maria” (2012), as well as his in-laws, Charlie (2002) and Ida (2017) Vitanza.
He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Diana (née Vitanza). Left to cherish his memory are his sons and their families: Geoffrey and Julia, Marcus and Alisha, and his treasured grandchildren Sebastian, Cristian, Allegra, Julian, and Gianna.
Zack was a dear brother to his only sibling, Reno, and his wife Patti (née Gallagher). He will also be fondly remembered by Kathy Kucemba (Marc), Chuck Vitanza (Kim), and Karen Mallia (Guido). Uncle Zack will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Zack dedicated more than 45 years of service to Fortino’s/Loblaws, where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout his career. His commitment and leadership culminated in his role as Meat Specialist, following many successful years as a franchise partner overseeing the Meat Department at the Fortino’s Plains Road location in Burlington.
Zack will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his love of music, his passion for Manchester United Soccer Club, homemade Italian food shared with family and friends, and a good glass of wine. The memories he created and the love he gave so freely will remain in our hearts forever. Special thanks to Dr. Brandon Myers and the entire Oncology Unit at the Juravinski Hospital for the exceptional care given to Zack.
