March 27, 1940 – January 5, 2021
It is with great sadness, and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zofia at St. Peter’s Hospital on January 5, 2021, in her 81st year.
Beloved and devoted wife of 48 years to Stanislaw. Sister-in-law of Anna Gut. Loving aunt of Elizabeth Moskal and Marek Krzyzewski, Maria and Jan Gut, Alicia and Bogdan Gut, and Josie Tytus. Great aunt of Michele and David Gut, Erik Moskal, Greg and Samantha Moskal, Miriam Krzyzewska, Andrea and Andrew Zadarnowski, Erica and Adam Makarewicz, Michelle and Kevin Ras, and Janusz Tytus. Predeceased by her brothers Josef, Pawel, Stanislaw, Jakub, and Franciszek. She will also be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends in Canada and Poland. Zofia was born in Zlelonka, Poland on March 27, 1940 to Jan and Ewa (Sondej) Gut. She immigrated to Canada in 1969 and returned to Poland in 1972 to marry her life partner, and husband Stanislaw, who shortly after came to Canada. Zofia had a vibrant personality, and always had a special song and dance to celebrate every life event. She will be remembered for her warm embraces, her frequent kisses, and her ability to turn every moment into a joyous one. She lived a life full of love, and was known to show grand gestures of affection to everybody around her. Her loving presence will be sorely missed, but the warm memories of her will be cherished. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the Juravinski Hospital, as well as St. Peter’s Hospital for taking care of Zofia. She extended the warmest of hugs to every nurse and doctor she interacted with as her special way of saying ‘thank you’. Due to current health regulations, a private family funeral mass and interment will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Zofia’s memory may be made to St. Stanislaus Polish Church.
