Claude David Hiott

North Topsail Beach, NC - Claude David Hiott, Jr., born February 10, 1953, in Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on May 29, 2026, in North Topsail Beach, North Carolina.

David was a proud 1971 graduate of Summerville High School and a 1975 graduate of the College of Charleston.

He was a self-taught woodworker and enjoyed doing home renovation projects. David had a deep love for his wife of 35 years, the beach, fast cars, movies, and sports - especially Summerville Greenwave, Clemson Tigers, and Carolina Panthers football, as well as Braves baseball.

Throughout his life, he carried the spirit and charm of the Lowcountry with him, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. His warmth, kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to family and friends will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May David’s memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspire all who knew him to live with the same generosity and compassion he so effortlessly shared.

David is survived by his wife, Deborah Lee Hiott, his sisters, Karen Hiott (John Donato), Rhoda Hiott, Valerie Ackerman (John), Vicki Waltzer, 2 nephews, 5 nieces, 3 great-nephews, 2 great-nieces, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him greatly.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church 28 Sumter Ave. Summerville, SC 29483 at 1:00 pm on July 24, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org , in honor of David's memory and legacy.
