Pat was born on July 30, 1939, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Glenn Davis and Beatrice Jennings Davis. After her father joined the Navy, the family moved to Norfolk, Virginia, and Pat enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up in Virginia Beach. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic Grade School and Norfolk Catholic High School, where she was involved in many activities and formed lifelong friendships that she cherished throughout her life.
Pat was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late William ("Bill") Wohlgemuth, Sr., whom she met in Norfolk while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. They were married in Norfolk and began a life together filled with adventure, family, and friendship. Bill's career with Travelers Insurance Company took the couple to Baltimore, Maryland; Louisville, Kentucky; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and ultimately West Chester, Pennsylvania, where they made their home for more than 30 years. Pat embraced each move with enthusiasm, quickly making new friends and becoming an active part of her community. Following her husband's passing, Pat moved to Surf City, North Carolina, in 2022 with her daughter, Kathy, where she enjoyed being closer to family and making new friends in her community.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was deeply committed to her Catholic faith and was actively involved in her parish communities throughout her life. In West Chester, she was a dedicated member of St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, where she led the Rosary Group and participated in numerous church activities.
Nothing brought Pat greater joy than her family. She was a constant presence at her sons' sporting events and was actively involved in booster club activities, enthusiastically supporting her children in all their endeavors. An avid reader and highly social person, Pat treasured time spent with family and friends and had a remarkable gift for maintaining friendships throughout her life. She never met a stranger and had a warm, welcoming nature that made others feel at ease. Pat enjoyed playing the piano in her younger years and maintained a lifelong love of music, especially singing. She especially loved summers at the family cottage at Bembe's Beach in Annapolis, Maryland, and enjoyed vacations in Ocean City, Maryland, the Outer Banks, and Topsail Island. Her love of the beach remained a lifelong passion and brought her countless happy memories.
Pat is survived by her loving children: Kathy Wohlgemuth, Bill Wohlgemuth Jr., Greg Wohlgemuth (Renee), and Mark Wohlgemuth (Chris); her cherished grandchildren, Jacob Wohlgemuth, Joshua Wohlgemuth, Kealey Wohlgemuth, and Julien Wohlgemuth; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pat will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, strong faith, love of family, and extraordinary gift for friendship. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and treasured memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with Bill, her beloved husband and best friend of 58 years, and they will forever cherish the example of faith, friendship, and devotion that she shared with them.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 18737 US Highway 17, Hampstead, NC 28443. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Pat's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or to a charity of the donor's choice in Pat's memory.
