Valerie Williford

A native of Red Oak, NC, Valerie was married in Murfreesboro, NC to Ralph Lavelle Williford who predeceased her in 1969.

Heartbroken, she never remarried as she raised her three children and moved from Anchorage, Alaska to Richmond, Virginia to be closer to her extended family.

Valerie enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved celebrating their many accomplishments, and she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow. Valerie is connected to the future by her grandchildren who were her greatest joy.

Valerie was preceded in death by her parents Robert Harvey Edwards and Phyllis Caroline Hamilton, her brother Charles Edwards, her sister Charlotte Nettleton, and her grandson David Williford. She is survived by her children Ralph Williford (Jan), Michael Williford, and Carole Drewry (Ferrell), and her grandchildren Eric Williford (Denise), Laura Lobdell (Stratton), and Steve Drewry (Tara), and her great-grandchildren David Jacob (Trinity) and Nicholas Williford and Boyd and Lilian Lobdell, and her great great grandchildren Casey and Hudson Williford. She is also survived by her half-brothers Carl and Tom (Sally) Thompson.

The family will host a Celebration of Life for Valerie at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Share the Table food pantry in Hampstead, NC https://sharethetablenc.com/
