

Adelle, an educator, taught in the public school systems of Suffolk and Portsmouth for 36 years. She was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church where she was a Deaconess, and served in numerous auxiliaries, including Usher, Missionaries, Women’s Ministry, and Beautification. She was a member of Rhoda Chapter 231 Order of Eastern Star, and the United Order of Tents. She was active in the community with the Retired Teachers Association and the Survivor Club.
Cherishing her memory are her children, Bridnetta (John) Edwards; Donald (Nikki) Watson; a brother, Charles Maurice (Rose) Baker; five grandchildren, Morgan Watson, Kelsey Edwards, Kayla Edwards, Christian Watson, and Chloe Edwards; a great-grandson; an aunt, Elizabeth Dildy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 3 pm to 7 pm, Friday, March 17, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, in Hampton, and funeral services on Saturday, March 18, at 11:00 am at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 2608 Airline Boulevard, in Portsmouth. Interment will be at the Cross Family Cemetery in Gates, North Carolina.
