Alan R. Lucas, age 74, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2025.
He was born on December 27, 1950. Alan was a quiet and steady presence in the lives of those who knew him. A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR racing, he enjoyed the thrill of the game and the track, often finding peace in the simple pleasures of watching a good race or game on TV.
Alan will be remembered fondly by many close and devoted friends, whose companionship meant a great deal to him throughout his life. Though a private person, his loyal nature and dry sense of humor left a lasting impression on those who spent time with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Georgia Lucas; his two brothers, Dennis J. Lucas and Ronnie G. Lucas; and his sister, Georgia Irvin.
Alan is survived by his nieces Paula Sproston (Michael) and Casey Lucas; his nephew Brian Irvin (Shannon); and his great-niece and great-nephews, James Irvin, Sarah Irvin, and Georgia Causey.
A private graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park. Alan will be deeply missed by those who knew and cared for him.
