

He was born on July 27, 1934 to Kenneth T. and Lucille B. Williamson. He was a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before eventually making Hampton his home for 62 years.
A veteran of the Korean War, Alan served as an equipment technician in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, before exiting with the rank of Staff Sergeant on November 8, 1963. Following his departure from active duty, Alan served another 27 years as an electronic technician in the U.S. Army Civil Service, before finally retiring on November 30, 1990.
Alan was a family man who enjoyed spending time with beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was also particularly strong in his faith, and he supported many different Christian ministries throughout his life.
Alan is preceded in rest by his parents: Kenneth and Lucille Williamson; his brother, Theodore Williamson; his sister, Jean Reber; his beloved wife, Ruth K. Williamson; and their precious, infant son, David Williamson. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Alan Scott Williamson (Debbie) of Lovettsville, Virginia, Susan W. Miller (Gary) of Hampton, Joy Carpenter (Steve) of Hampton, and Catherine Speciale (Steve) of Hampton; his 14 grandchildren; and his 26 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Alan will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, followed by an interment at Parklawn Memorial Park.
