Alton Taylor Moore

Alton T. “Al” Moore, 79, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017. He was born May 12, 1937 and grew up in Poquoson. He was a resident of Hampton for over 50 years and was very involved in the community.

His entire career was at NASA retiring in 1995 as Head of Scientific & Technical Photography.

Al was preceded in rest by his parents, Elmer T. and Nannie Moore; his wife of 43 years and mother of his children, Mary Moore; and his second wife, Bonnie Moore. He is survived by his four children, Gayle (Tim) Ownby, Bob (Anna) Moore, Lisa Hancock, Robin Moore; four grandchildren, Lauren, Matt, Shane, Zack; two great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Moore of Poquoson; and sister, Shirley Sweanepoel of Norwich, Connecticut.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Al’s life will follow at 2:30 pm at the funeral home with interment to be held at Parklawn Memorial Park.
