Alvin McGee

Alvin was born April 2, 1942, the youngest of 10 children. He graduated from Blue Ridge High School in Seneca, SC where he was also a student bus driver. He served 26 years in the United States Army, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. He served in the Vietnam War and had several other overseas tours including Korea and Germany, where he met his former wife, Gisela.

After retiring from the military, Alvin worked for United Parcel Service (UPS) and continued his education in paralegal studies at Northern Virginia Community College. He enjoyed fishing and telling his latest jokes to family and friends.

Alvin is preceded by his parents Isaiah McGee and Estelle Webb McGee, and siblings Charity McGee Jackson, Hermine McGee Logan, Leatrice McGee Rozier, Lura McGee Parker, R.A. McGee, Emma Nell, Eleonore McGee Webb, Eddie Sue McGee, Corrie McGee Colter, and daughter Dorothy Jean McGee Butts.

Alvin is survived by two daughters, Michelle M. Davidson (Glenn) and Patricia M. Norton (Dana); son Tyler C. McGee; grandchildren Julius Lipscomb III, Harolyn Johnson, Savannah Thomson (Trevor), Benjamin Norton, Harrison Norton, T. Alexis TaHyrah Z. Everett-McGee, Allison T. Joseph-McGee, Aizen C. Everett-McGee, Jerrel M. McGee; great-grandchildren Jaylen Lipscomb, Ashley Lipscomb, Harper Wood, and Jett Lipscomb.

Services at Arlington National Cemetery to be conducted on September, 22nd 2022 at 9:00AM.
