Angelina E. Bey-Lucas, age 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the home of her eldest daughter, Tamara, in Hampton, Virginia. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to William Andrews Bey and Carrie Bey and she married her sweetheart Phillip Lucas, all of whom preceded her in death. "Angie" attended Lucy Flowers High School and Malcolm X Community College. She worked her way from clerk to senior housing/property manager for the Chicago Housing Authority where she was employed for over 30 years. She later worked as senior property manager for the Housing Authority for the County of Cook in Illinois and for the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority in Virginia, from which she retired in 2017.
Angie was a wonderful poet and singer. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends, tending to her many houseplants, traveling, crocheting, reading the Bible, spreading the Gospel and regularly attending her Kingdom Hall in Richmond. She is survived by her children, Tamara (son-in-law, Eric) and Leslie; her grandsons, Kyle and Phillip; her siblings, Godfrey, Benjamin, Bertha, Harold, Lisa and Felicia; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
