Tony was an Airman with the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He later began his own contracting business, Prata & Jones Construction and retired in 2011 after 40 years of service. He volunteered with the Buckroe Beach Rescue Squad & Fire Co. and was a member of the American Legion in Phoebus.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cora Prata; son, Anthony Robert Prata, Jr.; daughters, Carmela Kirkwood and Marcia Stevens; and 9 grandchildren.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
