Barbara Ann Campbell passed on July 31, 2026, at the age of 84 leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born October 5, 1941, to John Gerald and Anna Bernice (Brizendine) Morris in Warwick, Virginia. She Graduated from Newport News High School in 1960. Barbara was in the banking business for many years, last one being SunTrust at Rouse Towers where she later retired.
Barbara loved Jesus and lived her life grounded in her faith. She found comfort, strength, and hope in her relationship with the Lord. While her presence will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and finds comfort in knowing they will see her again. She was a member of Liberty Live Church in Hampton for many decades.
Barbara embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She was an avid softball player whose competitive spirit and love of the game stayed with her throughout her life. She enjoyed sharing her love of sports with her family and friends and if she was home, could always find a tv on playing some form of sporting game. Above all, Barbara treasured her family. Some of her happiest moments were spent cheering from the stands as she watched her grandsons play baseball for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Walter “Bud” Campbell, her parents, and her brother Donald Morris and her precious Yorkshire Terrier, Sissy. She is survived by her son Michael Campbell and daughter Sherry Jeffries (Jimmy); brothers, Jerry (Cheryl) and Eddie (Pam) Morris; grandsons James “JJ” Jeffries (Jordan) and Jared Jeffries (Lexi) ; great grandchildren Blakely and Palmer Jeffries and one precious granddaughter on the way; her lifelong friend Judy Lucas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family would like to give a super heartfelt thanks to Keyana Hughes at Commonwealth Senior Living for her extraordinary compassion, love and care for Barbara. As well thanks to Medi Hospice, especially Tusia and Brittany for their patience, compassion and understanding.
