Betty Marie Carpenter, 75, returned to her heavenly home on March 27, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She drew her strength from her unwavering faith in God and her immense love for her family and friends.
In her earlier days she enjoyed caring for her farm, raising miniature horses, and gardening. Recently, she loved going shopping and meeting new people. She never met a stranger.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Peters; son, John David Conner; sister, Beverly Dobbs; grandson, Chad Thomas Conner; and husband Irvin Carpenter.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Angel Carr and fiancé Brian Poe of Richmond; son, Clint Conner and wife Anita of Hampton; son, Tommy Conner and his wife – Betty’s loyal friend, Teri of Hampton. Loving grandmother to Colby and Caden Conner, Tiffany Conner of Hampton, and sweet Ava and precious Aiden Poe of Richmond.
The family will accept visitors on Saturday, March 31 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 am with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 am.
