Obituary of Betty Jean Glover
Betty Jean Glover, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018. She was a native of Bluff City, TN and lived in Hampton for the past 49 years. She married her husband Jack in 1953. He retired from the Air Force at Langley in 1973. Betty was preceded in rest by her husband, her daughter Angela Rodgers and husband Kelly, her parents C. L. and Pauline Hartley, her sister Peggy and two brothers Glenn and Marion. She was devoted to her family and cared deeply for others. She is survived by her daughter, Terrie G. Landrum (husband, Andy); grandchildren Courtney (Troy), Casey (Steve), and Christy; great-grandchildren Ellie, Maya, and Andrew; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. She attended Providence UMC in Yorktown faithfully for many years. Services will be Monday, November 26, 2018 at Providence, 113 Old Dare Road, Yorktown, Virginia. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 with Rev. C. Douglas Akers officiating. After the service, there will be a reception at the church followed by a short graveside service at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton. Betty had an immense love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. To honor this love, the family requests memorial gifts be made to CHKD, Providence UMC or to a favorite charity.
