Billy Wayne Bordeaux, 75, of Hampton Va. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 22, 2019, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Horry County, SC on June 11, 1943. He was the son of the late Lee and Ida Bordeaux. Mr. Bordeaux began his career at Newport News Shipbuilding in the fall of 1962. Over the course of 17 years he worked in various positions, ranging from a helper in the Pipe Department to management in the Nuclear Pipe Department. As his career progressed he was employed with Fluor Daniels Construction at Surry Nuclear Power Plant where he assisted with the replacement project for the tube bundles in the steam generators in the late 1970’s and early 80’s. He was later employed with Virginia Power as a Construction Engineer and he went on to retire from Centennial Contractors where he was employed as a Project Manager for 13 years. He was a member of West Hampton Baptist Church in Hampton. He especially enjoyed spending time with the love of his life his wife of 56 years, his children, grandchildren and his beloved dog Buddy. He was an avid pool player, he loved nature and enjoyed fishing in his younger years and could often be found later in life in his backyard bird watching. He was a man of character and strong convictions with a great work ethic. He loved God, his family and his country.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Bordeaux and 3 children: Eddie Bordeaux and wife Belinda Bordeaux of Poquoson, Robin Bordeaux Ryan of Yorktown, Matthew Bordeaux and wife Gina Bonham Bordeaux of Norfolk; his brother, Daford Bordeaux of Lenoir NC; and 6 grandchildren; Joshua Bordeaux, Mallory Ryan, Madalyn Bordeaux, Meredith Ryan, Jenna Dillon and Mason Ryan. He also has many beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Bordeaux was preceded in death by twin brothers that passed away shortly after birth, and sisters Della May, Linda Kay and Vivian. The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Parklawn- Wood Funeral Home and other times at the home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 12 PM at Parklawn- Wood Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Buster Stockman. Internment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
