Bland Upton Creekmore
January 5, 1935 – January 16, 2019

Bland U. Creekmore, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Norfolk, Virginia. He is a native of Richmond, VA and has been a resident of Virginia Beach for many years.
Bland was born January 5, 1935 to the late Charlie and Mary Creekmore. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and the Virginia International Terminals. His favorite position was as a special needs school bus assistant with Virginia Beach Public Schools after retirement.
Bland's spare-time passion was sailing, fishing, camping, and traveling.
He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Bruce Creekmore and Jack Creekmore. Bland is survived by his wife, Janet L. Creekmore; four sons, Austin Litchfield and his wife, Heather, Steve Creekmore, Stan Creekmore, Michael Creekmore; five grandchildren, Alana Litchfield, Haven Litchfield, Jenny Beckhart and her husband, Tim, Kristen Yocum, Michele Russell; great-granddaughter, Baylie Beckhart; brother, John Creekmore and wife, Sandra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bland's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Suburban Christian Church, 5132 Bellamy Manor Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23464 with honors rendered by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
As a final expression of love to others Bland had his remains donated to the Anatomical Society of Virginia.
