Bob was a veteran of the Vietnam War. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him and he carried a great deal of pride and honor for his country and fellow military men and women. Semper Fi. After a career of 33 years, he retired from Siemens as an Engineering Foreman. In Bartow, Florida, he was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
Bob is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Gail Camden of Bartow, FL; three children, Kerry Brown and husband Teddy of Bartow, FL, Michael Camden and wife Heather of Lakeland, FL, and Nikki Camden and partner Craig Faish of Indiana, PA; six grandchildren, Cody Dietz, Jane-Anne Brown, Abigail Brown, Cassidy Camden, Joseph Brown, Wyatt Faish; mother, Magdalene Camden of Hampton, VA; mother-in-law, Melville Dowless of Newport News, VA; daughter-in-law, Susan Camden of St. Pete, FL; siblings, Lendell Camden and wife Pat of Homer, GA, and Joan Locey and husband Larry of Hampton, VA; brothers-in-law, David Dowless of Newport News, VA, and Sammy Dowless of Richmond, VA.
Preceding him in rest are his sons, Jason Camden and Jeffrey Camden; daughter, Erin Camden; father, Vernon Camden; and father-in-law, Raymond Dowless.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Interment will follow, with military honors, at Parklawn Memorial Park.
