Bobby Ray Evans

Bob was born in Ohio on November 19, 1943, and raised by Robert and Dorothy Evans, until he found his calling to join the United States Marines in 1961. He proudly served the United States of America for 21 years before retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant and settling down in Hampton, Virginia with his wife, Allison.

Outside of his profession, Bob enjoyed coaching soccer and softball, as well as spending his spare time fishing. He loved any and all sports and animals, having a particular affinity for dogs. Bob was also known for his mastery in gardening. Above all else, Bob was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by the people whose lives he touched.

Bob is survived by his wife, Allison Evans, and his three children: Adam Evans, Christine Evans, and Mathew (Paula) Evans. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Landon Evans, Emma Evans, and Michelle Evans. He is preceded in passing by his sons, Jimmy Evans and Donald Evans, and granddaughter, Ashley Evans.

A graveside service will be held in Bob’s honor at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Avenue Hampton, Virginia 23666, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11:00am.
