Carl Nicholas Peet of Hampton, Virginia passed on April 1, 2026. Carl, born February 20, 1953 to Doris and Jack Peet, enjoyed a loving childhood in Williamsburg as the youngest of five children. He was a graduate of the college of William & Mary and had a long, successful career as a construction inspector for VDOT and then as a consultant for Quinn Consulting Services, Inc.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Carol; his stepdaughter Haily Ducote (John); three beloved grandchildren: Elizabeth, John, and Madeline; his sister Regina Collins; and his adored nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anne, and his brothers Cary and Jack.
Carl loved talking with people and never met a stranger he couldn’t chat with. He enjoyed boating and the presence of the water. He had an unwavering love for his dogs and all wildlife; but, nothing compared to his love for family. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 12 PM - 2 PM Saturday, May 16 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park (2551 N Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666).
