Carolyn Bryan Campbell

Carolyn Bryan Campbell of Newport News, VA passed away suddenly on September 16, 2026. She was a beloved Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, GiGi and friend whose kindness, laughter and devotion to her family touched the lives to all who knew her.

She was born in Kinston, NC to parents Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Bryan Jr. She graduated from Kecoughtan High school where she was part of the marching band. She married and spent the next 21 years traveling to different parts of the world with her Air Force husband. She loved seeing the countries of Greece, Italy and Germany. She worked at the childcare centers, spreading love to all the children in her care during this time.

She became a CNA and cared for the older generation until recently. She showed compassion and love to all in her care. Her patients often asked about her and only wanted her to care for them.

She had a passion for her spending time in her yard, tending to her flowers. She could tell you anything you wanted to know about them. She had many birdhouses . She loved watching the birds, butterflies and hummingbirds that would visit her flowers. She was often seen showing her Grandchildren and Great-children how to care for Gods blessings. She was an avid baker. Birthday cakes and wedding cakes were often made and decorated by her hands. She is well known for her banana bread, pound cake and red cake. She was frequently asked by many to have these at potlucks. She was a giving soul and often gave more than she had to give. She never knew a stranger. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and spend hours talking.

Her greatest joy was her family and she took immense pride in the generations she helped nurture and support. Her warmth, wisdom, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

She is pre-decreased by her Father ,Mother, Ex-Husband Leslie F. Campbell, and Niece Kathryn Torontali.

She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Rob) , son Kit (Nikki) sister Sister Ann , brother Robert (Judy) and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren- Cameron (Marissa) , Tatiana (Ash) , Lia (James), Megan (Chris), Lance (Rachael) , Alyssa and Kaitlyn. She was also blessed with 5 Great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Visitation is from 2-4 pm, Celebration of life service from 4-5pm.
