Carolyn Owens

Carolyn Anne Owens, 74, of Washington, NC, lost her long-term battle with cancer on June 16, 2025. Carolyn was born in Pitt County NC, and was a longtime Newport News, VA resident. She was employed with Coats & Clark for several years. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with family making lots of memories at the beach and family gatherings.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Donald Owens, her son, Gary Owens, her father, EJ Harris, her mother, Margie Owens, her stepfather, Bethel Owens, and her brother, Johnny Owens. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her significant other Sonny Stone of Winterville, NC, her stepmother, Melba Harris of Zebulon, NC, her brothers, Jeff Owens of Washington, NC, Donnie Harris (Sandy) of Youngsville, NC, Ronnie Harris (Donna) of Youngsville, NC, Stanley Harris (Geraldine) of Wake Forest, NC, Duane Harris (Tammy) of Zebulon, NC, her sister, Linda Matthews (Kevin) of Zebulon, NC, three grandchildren, Mathew Owens (Ellen) of Virginia, Crystal Owens of Kansas, Lindsey Snyder of Washington, and four great-grandchildren, Harper Owens, Nevaeh Howerton, Trinity Howerton and Serenity Howerton. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, at the Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with entombment following in Parklawn Memorial Park. Friends are encouraged to visit the funeral homes website to share words of comfort with the family.

The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Carolyn.
