She was born April 7, 1929 in Newport News, Virginia. She began her career early with C&P Telephone company. She retired after 35 years with Bell Atlantic/C&P as the business manager. She was full of spunk and life till the end, and she will always be remembered for her vibrant, personality and loving heart.
She is Predeceased by her husband, William Clarence Burton, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne and husband Kelly, Her son, Michael and his wife, Sylvia, and her daughter MaryBeth Lawson. From her three children, she gained so many beautiful Grandchildren and great grandchildren, Lee Denney and wife Courtney who blessed her with Christian, Matthew and Nicholas. Christopher Denney and wife Courtney, who blessed her with Camden, Scott Tinsley and his love Rachel, South Burton, Brennen Burton and his bride to be Kaitlynn, Kaitlyn Meier and her husband, Brian, who blessed her with Owen and Haisley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Heibert And her nephew , David Verell and wife, Kathy, and an abundance of nieces and nephews from them She has also survived by her nephews, Richard Bruce and Robert Bruce.
We would also like to thank Carol Simpson, who was her caregiver for many years and kept her laughing, young and safe. Thank you to the wonderful Hospice team she had. We certainly appreciate everything that you have done
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 31 at Parklawn Memorial from 5 to 8, And a service at noon on Saturday, August 1 followed by the burial. We would like to invite everyone to join us at her daughter’s house in Hampton to Eat, drink and share stories about this amazing woman.
May you rest in peace, mother, and continue watching over us as you have done all your life you enjoy the rest of these years with your Billy. He waited long enough on that bench before he got you.
