He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on October 9, 1953, to Joe Hagan Sr. and Eleanor Horn who preceded him in passing. Chuck went to college at Murray State University, in Kentucky, before joining the Army and working diligently in his role as a Sergeant. After a fruitful military career, Chuck enjoyed his time doing autobody work at Hampton Collision and Bowditch Ford.
Chuck was an avid fan of the UK basketball team, “The Wildcats,” and he held incredible artistic ability. He was also a lover of playing pool and frequented tournaments in the local area and even in Las Vegas.
You could always find him every day at Chilis during lunch time where he had his own dedicated table. Chili’s was like a second home to Chuck, and he was close enough to the staff there to be considered family.
Chuck is survived by his brother, Joe Louis Hagan Jr. of Owensboro, Kentucky, along with Joes children Mike, Mark, Mathew, Martin and Marie. He is also survived by his sister Lynne Marie Bendig and her children Andrea and Neil Bendig.
Chuck was a beautiful soul who created community and family everywhere he went. He will surely be missed.
A gathering in Chuck’s honor will be held at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, at 2551 North Armistead Ave. Hampton, VA 23666, on Saturday, February 28 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
