Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles Vincent, Sr. and Lora Mayer; three brothers, Lloyd D. Mayer, Eugene Mayer and John Waggoner and two sisters, Juanita Hillary and Barbara Smith.
He was survived by his wife of 68 years, Anne W. Mayer; his son Charles “C.V.” Mayer, III and his wife Beverly; step-grandson Bryan Calfee; sister Lorraine Scarlett and her husband James and their daughter Nita Scarlett.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A Committal service will follow at 2 PM in the Chapel Mausoleum in Parklawn Memorial Park.
