Charlette Celeste Hunter was born on June 27, 1965, in Chester, Pennsylvania to William and Julie Dunbar. She was the third of four siblings: Jessie Harper (Robert), Roxanne Dunbar, and William Dunbar Jr. (deceased).
Charlette studied the Bible as a youth and dedicated her life as a servant of Jehovah in 1981. She attended the Chester Public School System and graduated from Chester High School in 1983. After graduating, Charlette started to serve as a Pioneer, a full-time Bible teacher, of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She served where the need was greatest for teachers of the Bible in Pennsylvania and New York. She held employment positions in catering and in the field of market research.
In August of 1994, after spending several years in the full-time service, Charlette married Sean Hunter. After getting married, she and Sean moved to Tappahannock, Virginia, and eventually settled in Hampton, Virginia. To this union was added two children: Simone Alexis Sinclaire and Jewel Alicia Charlayne. She has two grandchildren: Aulani Christine and Janae MaCari.
Charlette was a zealous proclaimer of the good news and had a love for the ministry. She was a kind person with a hospitable and generous spirit, a quick wit, and a great sense of humor. She enjoyed her family, reading, and cooking. Her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, sisters, and a host of other relatives will miss her dearly.
A celebration of Charlette’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 717 E Little Back River Rd Hampton VA 23669-1828.
